It’s indicative of how well Queens are doing when we have two games this week when, if we hadn’t been in Europe and we hadn’t taken the Alba Challenge Cup seriously and beaten Dunfermline, we would have had no games. The picture shows that even 4 years ago Queens fans, long before Hampden and Europe, were roaring and cheering on the Doonhamers. In fact this pic was taken in 2004 on the last game of the season up at Dingwall when a certain Alex Burke scored the winner for Queens in a 2-1 win……………….. Read More |

If ever there was a clearer example of why Supporters should play a greater role in their football club, it’s the demise of Gretna Football Club. Their rapid rise from semi-professional English football to the pinnacle of the Scottish game was seen as many as a ‘fairytale’. ‘Living the Dream’ they called it, and the media fawned on the ‘wee borders club’ as it made its meteoric rise it to the very top of Scottish football. Winning three divisions in successive seasons, a Scottish Cup Final, Europe, it was like someone had turned every supporters perfect scenario into reality. Read More |

| Who won the Wii and the South win against Clyde | |
|
First of all, news of our Junior Blues Christmas ‘Win a Wii’ competition. The lucky winner was Vicky Boa from Moffat. Vicky was presented with her prize by the Supporters Trust Vice Chair, Louise Currie before yesterdays match against Clyde. It’s not often that Wayne Rooney and Stephen Dobbie have something in common, but the entry of both in their respective matches this weekend, turned the games in their teams favour. Dobbie’s entrance in the 56th minute, brought greater penetration and his goal, which brought Queens back into the game, was a typically sublime piece of control in the box with a volley to finish off. From then on Queens stormed forward with yet another goal from Paul Burns and a penalty from Steve Tosh saw the South run out comfortable winners in the end. Clyde fought well for the first hour with Kevin Bradley a stand out. The papers gave their usual thorough detailed match reports J . ..................... Read More |

| New Signing and Junior Blues news | |
|
The big news tonight is that Queens have announced the signing of Scotland’s U-20 World Cup and former Clyde player Brian Gilmour.
Gilmour was part of the U-19’s European Championship squad that reached the final last year against Spain and the recent U-20’s World Cup Squad. Having started at Rangers, Brian recently wrote an article in the Daily Record, stating that his gamble to leave the Gers had paid off resulting in his inclusion in the Scotland squads. Certainly the reports of his performances with Clyde seem to back this up. At 19 years of age, with international experience under his belt already it’s a positive signing for the South as we look to improve on our last 2 seasons in Division 1.
Queens are off to the North East of England to play a team who have changed their name five times since their inception in 1988. Newcastle Benfield will provide stiff opposition having lost narrowly 1-0 to York City in last seasons FA Cup. Read More |

We've run several competitions over the last year or so, either via Blue & White or via free raffles at various events. It turned out to be by far the most popular competition we've run so far with double the number of normal entries.

| Junior Blues at Calside School Fayre | |
|
Last Saturday the Supporters Trust, Jim Thomson and Dougie the Doonhamer went along to Calside Primary School Fayre. Although the weather was a bit damp and breezy there was a large turnout, and our stall was kept busy throughout the morning. Many young fans came along to have their photo taken with Jim and Dougie. Dougie also spent an hour in goal raising funds for the schools Parents & Friends Association. As well as picking up ‘Pound A Game’ Junior Blues Season ticket forms, youngsters took part in our free raffle to win autographed footballs. We would like to thank Headmistress Mrs Hume and Calside Parents & Friends Association for their help and support. Junior Blues should also note that they will all receive their Junior Blues Club Season ticket forms along with their ‘Summer Holiday Special’ edition of Blue & White, which will be out shortly. Once again the ‘Pound a Game’ season ticket is a bargain at £18. Any youngsters wishing to join the Junior Blues for the first time can pick up a form from the office at Palmerston Park. You can also download it here |

| New Manager announced. | |
|
Queens were not long in finding a replacement for departed Manager Ian McCall. And the new man Gordon Chisholm who has been at Palmerston as assistant Manager since last October was revealed at a press conference on Monday. Chis is a popular choice with the Queens support and we all wish him well for the coming season. Further good news from Palmerston is that Jim Thomson,Eric Paton and John O'Neil have all signed new contracts. Talks are under way in a bid to keep hold of Jamie Adams and Stevie Murray from Kilmarnock as well as highly rated keeper Jamie MacDonald from Hearts. Musky. |
