Supporters Trust increases investment in Queens

Queen of the South Supporters Trust - Palmerston Park, Dumfries >>

The Queens Trust increased it’s shareholding this week by a further one thousand five hundred pounds, bringing the total investment in Queens over the last month to over TWO THOUSAND POUNDS. This includes player sponsorship fees and around £200 invested through Queens Active Community Football Scheme. Given, we’ve also raised nearly £200 by starting to sell Queens merchandise under the East Stand, it’s been a good month.

Over the last year we could have simply invested funds in Queens through direct share purchase, but we felt that there were some projects that needed a direct injection of cash. As a result, funding has been put toward our Save Our Season project back in January which resulted in over £3,000 being given to Iain McCall during the transfer window, £500 to help promote the Guid Nychburris parade, £250 towards promoting the Junior Blue season tickets and provided a regular newsletter for all young Queens fans, £350 towards player sponsorship and, as mentioned above, £200 toward the Community Football scheme.

The share investment brings the total invested in Queens to over TEN thousand pounds in the last 14 months. This shows what a few supporters working together can achieve and those that have helped this happen can be very proud of their efforts.

We have now built up the shareholding to over three hundred and fifty shares and our first target is to increase this to 1000 shares within a reasonable timescale.

This will not only give the club a reasonable investment from its supporters, but give the supporters of Queen of the South a sizeable share purchase and a stronger combined voice in what happens at Palmerston Park.

This will only be achieved by expanding the team effort and co-operation of as many Queens supporters as possible. It’s Your Club, Your Community, Your Say.
